Living with Self - Personal Development
Living with Self is the first event in our new Revolution Networking series.
Revolution Networking, is a new way of hosting networking events based on the idea that all stories of care experience have value, and should all get equal precedence. Every care-experienced person who wants to contribute gets a five minute slot to have their say in a Ted-inspired format.
'Living with Self' events are for people with care experience to meet one another and talk about the tools we use to understand ourselves. How can we deal with emotional challenges in a positive way?
If you want to learn how people who have been there handle pain from care experience, or if you want to share your ideas and experiences this event is for you!
There will be time for expression, group discussion and networking within the group in a safe, friendly, informal environment.
We will provide lunch and refreshments and we can help with travel costs.
When & Where
Rees is the product of a merger between the Rees Foundation and the Care Leavers Foundation.
The Rees Foundation was set up to support care leavers from residential or foster care of all ages by providing the support, advice, resources, and assistance (financial or otherwise) that most people could simply turn to family for. We are creating a belonging network for all people who have been in care. The Rees Foundation is a registered charity (1145019) and a charitable company (08216279, England and Wales).
The Care Leavers' Foundation (1081410) provides much needed help to care leavers. This 'invisible minority' of young adults have survived turbulent childhoods, suffering abuse or neglect within their own families, often finding the 'care system' which is designed to protect them a cold and uncertain place to grow up.
