Event description
Get ready for "Plastic Free July" - this event is a great opportunity to learn from the best on how to reduce plastic in your everyday life.

About this Event

Following the success of January’s Acorn Speaker Series with Liz Bonnin, from the brilliant BBC documentary ‘Drowning in Plastic’, we are delighted to host Claudi Williams as our next guest speaker on Wednesday 26th June 7pm-9pm.

Claudi Williams is a Stroud-based community activist and the author of “The Joy of Living Without Plastic” blog (www.pfree.co.uk) which charts her family's experiment of buying no plastic for a whole year in 2016. (See also The Times article on how Claudi has reduced plastic in her home.)

This event is a wonderful opportunity to learn practical hints and tips on how to reduce plastic in your everyday life. It is also timely as it is the week before the start of “Plastic Free July” - a global initiative to encourage people to “Choose To Refuse” single-use plastic during July.

The school will share the results and learnings from the Acorn Water Taste Challenge. This has been taking place in the Stroud and Nailsworth Farmers’ Markets in March and May, in order to encourage people not to purchase single-use plastic bottles for water.

You are invited to what promises to be an interesting, enlightening and practical event to assist us on the journey to reduce plastic waste.

Please reserve your place by booking your ticket. Entry fee is £1 to cover the booking and admin costs.
