Laser run – A future sport now (Dr Nic Robinson & Danny Cullinane)
Workshop
Working better together: co-producing physical education-related questions and answers important to you! This workshop aims to flip historical research process on its head. We want to know what’s important to YOU and your schools: elements of PE delivery, provision, child outcomes, or anything else you care about and want to work towards. Using responses from an online survey sent to the PESSPA network plus your own input, in groups, we will discuss these responses and prioritise them. (Dr Katie Fitton-Davies)

Session 2 (Part 1)
Workshop A
Hard choices easy life, easy choices hard life: Empowering PE through Collaborative Solutions with School Leadership. This workshop will be based around a panel discussion involving a local secondary school Headteacher and a Head of PE. Through discussion and shared problem-solving, participants will explore optimal strategies to navigate the contemporary issues pertaining to school PE, student wellbeing, and whole-school improvement. Attendees will leave with practical ideas and actionable strategies to strengthen PE’s position within the school curriculum. (St Francis Xavier’s Catholic Academy/Paul Miller)
Workshop B
This workshop will provide an overview of a distinctive, symbiotic, learning experience that has been developed by LJMU Nutrition staff and Kendal College staff to enable students to actively learn and engage with course materials outside of the traditional classroom, and to take a greater responsibility for their own learning. We will demonstrate how this learning experience can be delivered as a hands on practical activity in a specialised space or as a theoretical workshop activity within a classroom. (Kendall College/Wendy Johnson)
Session 2 (Part 2)
Workshop A
OFSTED: how to thrive during the 'deep dive'
In this session, we’ll share what we learned from a recent Ofsted deep dive into PE. It’s a chance to reflect on the process, discuss key takeaways, and consider what worked well. We’ll explore how these insights can help PE departments feel more prepared and confident in highlighting their strengths. (Carmel College/Chloe Callan)
Workshop B
Exploring SEND in Mainstream PE- the challenges, barriers and exploring solutions This workshop will give teachers the opportunity to explore the challenges facing them in PE with the increasing number of EHCP’s and SEND pupils in mainstream schools. The workshop will aim to collate the experiences and challenges faced by PE, explore some examples of good practice and plan for the future and how we can collectively address this challenge. (LJMU Vic Boyd)
