Event description
The LJWG will be holding its annual conference on 27th January 2020, bringing together professionals working in hepatitis C care in London.

About this Event

This year's conference will hear from experts across London about barriers and solutions to being the first global city to microeliminate hepatitis C. In particular, the focus will be on the work the LJWG has been coordinating with the Mayor of London's office as part of Sadiq Khan's health inequalities strategy.

This event is free to attend for everyone except private companies, which will be charged £100 per delegate. The final agenda will be published by the end of November 2019 and will include sessions on:

  • The UK and London's current progress towards elimination
  • The impact of the elimination deal initiatives
  • What is happening on the ground from representatives from drug and homelessness services and prisons
  • Learning from the Fast Track Cities HIV initiative
  • The importance of effective data sharing
  • Funding and commissioning challenges
  • Innovations in testing, including delivery in primary care and pharmacies
  • Improving access to treatment

There will be plenty of time to network and opportunities to share research and best practice with poster displays.

If you are interested in exhibiting a poster, please email info@ljwg.org.uk by Monday 6th January 2020 with a 250 word abstract containing the name of the project / research study, authors, aims, and key findings. Posters will be displayed on a board 100cm x 160cm, which the authors must bring on the day of the conference for display.

We are also offering organisations the opportunity to display a stand, at a cost of £1,300 each. Please email info@ljwg.org.uk if you are interested in displaying a stand by Monday 6th January 2020.

Please be aware that signing up on this page is a register of interest only. Whilst we wish we could accommodate everyone, this event is usually over-subscribed and we may need to limit the number of people from each organisation to ensure that all relevant organisations are represented. We shall confirm your attendance by mid-December.

The conference is intended for professionals working in and around hepatitis C care, especially in London. In particular it is relevant for hepatologists/gastroenterologists; Public Health Directors; managers of drug and alcohol treatment, homelessness, and sexual health services; ODN MDT members; specialist nurses; Health and Wellbeing Board members; specialist commissioning leads; service user organisation representatives; CCG members; community pharmacy and needle exchange leads; prison healthcare staff; primary care leads; representatives from NHS England and Public Health England.

If you have any questions, please email info@ljwg.org.uk.

This event is funded by grants from Abbvie, Gilead and MSD. The companies have no editorial control over the agenda or speakers.
