About this event

It highlights that all behaviour is a form of communication and helps attendees look at how trauma and toxic stress affects our bodies and our actions.

By the end of the session participants will:

 Understand the research around Adverse Childhood Experiences and trauma

 Understand the potential impact of trauma including on behaviours

 Understand the impact working with trauma can have on professionals

 Start to understand what trauma-informed practice means

This webinar discusses trauma. Trauma can be a multisensory experience, it can happen to anyone at any point in their lives, it may leave us with unexpected moments of overwhelm. During this training we try to make it as safe as possible and provide you with take care warnings throughout and offer emotional regulation techniques.

This webinar is part of a programme of training being provided by Leicestershire County Council Public Health in partnership with Barnardo's. This training has been developed by Barnardo's and the Violence Reduction Network LLR on behalf of the Trauma Informed Partnership.

Leicestershire County Councils Public Health departmental mission is to promote a trauma-sensitive community and build resilience throughout Leicestershire, supporting organisations to become trauma sensitive which will reduce the effect of trauma on individuals, families and communities and prevent re-traumatisation.

This training has been commissioned to cover all practitioners across Leicestershire with a primary focus on Health visiting and midwifery services, alongside any internally or externally Public Health commissioned services. This training is also accessible to those practitioners that work across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.
