About this event

We are opening this building in association with Cadw Open Doors.

Llwyn Celyn is a Grade 1 listed medieval building. Once part of the Llanthony Priory estate it was built in the late 15th century. Llwyn Celyn sits on a hillside at the mouth of the Llanthony Valley, a few mile from the ruins of the priory. The valley has for centuries attracted poets, artist and romantics and witnessed the struggles between English and Welsh rule. Our project has not just saved the site, but also tells its history - the story of the people who inhabited it during times of political upheaval and agricultural change.

Designer Duncan Tattersall will be in the Threshing Barn on Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th demonstrating the art of screen printing. Following in Lady Smith's footsteps Duncan now prints Landmark's curtains, including those seen at Llwyn Celyn. There will be a chance to try your hand at screen printing on a small scale too.

Parking will be well signposted and there will be short walk uphill to the site – please wear sturdy footwear. Currently, the site is not suitable for those with limited mobility.
