Event description

Description

A global student symposium showcasing cutting-edge research from across the Life Sciences, held jointly by graduate students at the MRC-Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK and this year’s partner institute, the Göttingen Graduate School for Neurosciences, Biophysics, and Molecular Biosciences (GGNB), Göttingen, Germany.

The programme consists of themed sessions including speakers from diverse fields such as structural biology, cell and developmental biology, bioengineering and neurobiology. In addition, there will be a talk series and interactive workshop focussing on global collaborations, and keynote perspectives by Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz and by Nobel Laureate Greg Winter.

The symposium includes opportunities for scientific discussion and networking with speakers during a drinks reception, informal pub night at The Grain & Hop Store, catered lunches and coffee breaks. There will also be two optional events: an organized punting trip, and a subsidized formal dinner at Peterhouse.

Additionally, students will have the chance to communicate their research at an evening poster session with wine and cheese, and during a ‘three-minute-thesis’ competition.
