Registration for the joint student symposium between the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology and the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry

About this event

A global student symposium showcasing cutting-edge research from across the Life Sciences, held jointly by graduate students at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (MRC LMB, UK) and this year’s partner institute, the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (MPIB, Germany).

Since restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic have been lifted and thanks to the experience we gained over the past two years organising conferences online, this year we have decided to have a hybrid symposium where all talks will be given in person and live streamed.

The symposium will take place from the 6th to the 8th of July 2022 at the MRC LMB in Cambridge.

The programme consists of four speaker sessions covering a range of life science fields including structural biology, cell and developmental biology, immunology, and neurobiology. Our keynote speakers include Magdalena Żernicka-Goetz, Nir Hacohen and Jonathan Weissman amongst many other speakers. In addition, we will host a science policy workshop, a Horizon talk and a public engagement flipped fair. Stay tuned to our communication outlets to find out more!

As a student-organised symposium, we are excited to offer many student-focused sessions including student talks, a 3-Minute-Thesis competition and a poster session. We aim to facilitate interactions between early-stage and more experienced scientists, providing many opportunities for discussion, such as lunches with speakers. If you are interested in taking part in the student sessions, the deadline for abstract submission is the 15th of May.

Please also register your interest for our evening activities, including punting and a formal dinner at Sydney Sussex College!
