Event description

Description

With such pressure for development across the county the need to protect and enhance our green spaces and biodiversity resource has never been more important. Many parishes are now drawing up Neighbourhood Plans and local environment groups are well positioned to get involved in the process.

If you have risen to the challenge of preparing a neighbourhood plan for your parish, are wondering where to start or just want to find out about how you can protect and enhance the green spaces and biodiversity in your parish, then come along and find out more from the visionary Benson Nature Group who have developed an ambitious long term strategy for Benson's people and nature, that treats its green spaces as an ecological network.

Local authority neighbourhood planning teams and an expert consultant with many years of experience in collaborative planning at a neighbourhood level will also be present to answer questions and offer guidance. Naturally, The Thames Valley Records Centre (TVERC) will be on hand to illustrate how their extensive data and expertise can help identify important green corridors within a neighbourhood plan area.

After lunch there will be a guided walk around Benson's ecological network showcasing Benson's Nature Group's many challenges and achievements https://www.bensonnaturegroup.com/.
