This event will focus on developing and strengthening the contribution of the local government family to improving health and wellbeing.

About this Event

Public Health Reform is a collaboration between National and Local Government. Local Government are providers of key services which have a direct impact on health and wellbeing, such as housing, planning, leisure, recreation and environmental health. All of these directly impact on the health of the population.

This event will focus on developing and describing the future relationship of local government with the emerging public health landscape, including Public Health Scotland.

Who should attend

The event will bring together senior leaders from across the local government family and public health. This should include:

- COSLA

- National Government

- Professional group representation

- Health and Social Care Partnership Chief Officers

- Community Planning Improvement Board and network

- Directors of Public Health

- Public Health Scotland; and

- Third Sector Intermediaries

Format

The event will be chaired by Sally Loudon and Professor Jim McGoldrick and include contributions from senior leaders from across local government including SOLACE, Improvement Service, Academia and Professional Groups as well as public health.

The event will include a mixture of presentations and interactive workshops and panel discussions.
