Local Government EU Exit Workshop - Regulatory Services and Trading Standards
Following our regional events on Brexit Preparedness in December, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) is running a series of thematic workshops in the run up to the 29th March exit date.
The aim of this interactive workshop is to facilitate a deep dive into the implications of EU Exit for Regulatory Services and Trading Standards and to provide practical operational guidance to authorities. This session will be run in collaboration with colleagues from the Foods Standards Agency, Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy and Border Delivery Group.
We expect these events to be most suitable for: trading standards officers, environmental health officers, port health officers and relevant heads of services from local authorities.
The agenda for the day has been shortened in order to make the day as concise and productive as possible. It will cover:
10:00 Registration, networking and coffee & tea
10:30 Introduction - MHCLG
10:40 Key cross-government messages – MHCLG
11:00 Focused presentations from Defra/FSA/BEIS/BDG
11:40 Breakout session on tables, addressing questions posed in presentations
12:00 Feedback from breakout sessions
12:30 Panel QA
13:00 Close
Each session will also provide an opportunity to provide feedback to each of the respective departments.
We are also running an event for coastal and border authorities on 20 March which will include more specific information for local authorities with ports which may be of interest. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/eu-exit-and-coastal-authorities-tickets-57831088342
