Local Growth Hub Breakfast: Industry 4.0 the future is now
Wed 3 May 2017, 08:00 – 09:30 BST
The increasing convergence of digital, physical and biological assets – known globally as Industry 4.0 or ‘the fourth industrial revolution’ – is creating unprecedented opportunities for regional manufacturing businesses and supply chains. Like all things, however, it requires understanding, and investment before the benefits can be realised.
The Local Growth Hub, in association with Grant Thornton, is inviting businesses from across the Liverpool City Region to join it to discuss the latest developments in Industry 4.0. Attendees will also find out more about support opportunities available to businesses, including LCR4.0 - a new business support programme to transform manufacturing in the Liverpool City Region.
Guests will be welcomed by Neil Sturmey, partner at Grant Thornton and hear from panellists:
- Matt Foddy, senior manager from Grant Thornton's innovation team
- Simon Reid, sector manager for advanced manufacturing at the Liverpool City Region and LCR 4.0
- Mark Basnett, managing director at the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership
Mark Rayner, chief operations officer at Briggs Automotive Company (BAC Mono) and BAC’s USA President, who will discuss the importance of using technology in industry to stay ahead of competition.
