Event description

Description

Join us to celebrate Local History Month 2018, we'll be hosting a programme of events to celebrate Local History Month in May. This year’s programme include talks on The Mining Heritage of Northumberland & County Durham, Women’s Rights to Human Rights: how the struggle for the vote changed the world, celebrating Tyne artistry such as Thomas Bewick and Joseph Skipsey and The Lyon’s Roar, a look at brilliant footballer Mary Lyons!

We are hosting events at our City Library and also in some of our branch libraries. We hope that you can take advantage of the activities on offer this year. If you’d like to find out more about your heritage, come along; you’ll receive a warm welcome at all our events.

Unless a ticket price is given, events are free of charge and places will be limited so all events must be booked in advance.
