Event description

Description

The future is place based.

Throughout 2019, the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Enterprise Partnership will be working with Leeds City Region LEP to develop a Local Industrial Strategy for our region, a strategy that will determine the next 20 years of productivity and growth.

Our region is as diverse as it is vast, packed full of distinctive places. In order to deepen understanding of our distinctive places, we need to know their stories, see the challenges and opportunities they face and hear shared goals. Each place has a narrative locally owned by its people, organisations, businesses and landscapes. How do businesses based in rural areas differ? How does their place drive or inhibit their productivity? What is the story of your place now? What is your vision for the future?

Join us on the 26th June 2-4pm for a series of place-based consultations for the Local Industrial Strategy, looking in depth at the distinctions of City, Rural, Coast and Towns. The workshops will respond to data and evidence gathered from across places and sectors, develop and shape narratives of distinctive places and drive forward further evidence gathering and shaping of the Local Industrial Strategy. We want this to be a strategy for the region, by the region.

Places are limited and advance booking is recommended.
