Local Planning Policy for Sustainable Soils: Report & Model Policy Launch

The Soils Taks Force invites you to the launch of a groundbreaking report and model policy designed to help local authorities integrate sustainable soil policies into their Local plans. Funded by the UKRI Impact Acceleration Award and developed by Lancaster University in collaboration with local authority partners, this initiative supports climate action, biodiversity conservation, a circular economy and broader sustainability goals.

At this in-person event, hosted by JTP, we’ll share key insights from the Local Soils Project, including findings from multiple rounds of cross-sector engagement. We will also introduce a practical model policy to help planners and policymakers embed soil health into planning frameworks.

We welcome planners, environmental professionals, construction industry experts, and policymakers and other interested groups to be part of this important conversation - ensuring that healthy soils are at the heart of sustainable development.
