Immerse yourself in a day packed with speakers and specialist exhibitors from across Plymouth and South Devon.

Discover more about region's maritime, social and archival heritage and be a part of it as we celebrate 20 years of this event.

Topics this year include:

  • Temperance in the Three Towns of Plymouth, Devonport and Stonehouse
  • Royal Navy Shipwrecks near Plymouth
  • Plymouth’s Ancient Buildings
  • Quacks and Quackery in Victorian Plymouth

You can also enjoy a unique performance by Stiltskin inspired by Smeaton's Tower, see archive film footage and photographs exploring the destruction and reconstruction of Plymouth, and get an update on the work of arts and heritage across the city.

Tickets are £15 per person - book now!

Tickets for Local Studies Day on Saturday 5 May are priced at £15 per person and are available to buy now. The ticket price includes tea and coffee. If you wish to buy lunch during the lunch break there are a number of cafes and eateries on and near the University campus.
