Description

Woohoo! You’re a few steps away from securing your place at this Local Welcome meal in Birmingham. Congratulations on your life choices thus far!

Local Welcome makes it fun and easy to cook and eat with refugees in your community. We use the magic of food to bring people together, connect and share their stories. Find out how Local Welcome works.

This Local Welcome meal takes place in Birmingham at St Alban's Church. You'll cook three different recipes alongside 10 local people and 10 refugees who live in your local area. Then all of you will eat the delicious meal you've made as one big group. With lots of chat. You might start cooking together as strangers, but you’ll end up eating as friends.

All our recipes are vegetarian and are totally delicious. Don't worry if you need vegan, gluten-free or dairy free either - we've got you covered!

You don’t need to bring anything with you. Just book your place, pay your fiver (which pays for the food for you and one of the refugees), and we’ll see you there.

If you're bringing someone who is under 18, you don't need to buy them a separate ticket, just bring them along with you!

(Maybe you should invite some friends too?)

All our venues are accessible for people with disabilities and limted mobility.

Local Welcome makes it fun and easy for refugees and the local community to meet for lunch together. In a divided world, making the time to connect with someone different from yourself is a radical act. We use the magic of food to bring people together, connect and share their stories.
