Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running 2025

Join Team Breathrough T1D and fundraise for us at the Loch Ness Marathon Running Festival 2024 by taking on either the marathon, 10K, River Ness 5K or the Wee Nessie.

Sign up to Team Breakthrough T1D and we will support you with:

• Breakthrough T1D running vest
• Fundraising pack with lots of hints and tips to maximise your fundraising
• Regular contact with Breakthrough T1D staff to help and encourage you in the lead up to the event

Whether this is your first 5k or you are an experienced marathon runner, we hope that you can raise lots of money for us so we can continue funding life-changing type 1 diabetes research and supporting people living with type 1.

Charity place fees

We have to purchase charity places from the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon Festival oragnisers, as well as organise a lot of things behinds the scene. We ask that people who run for Breakthrough T1D pay a portion of the fees we inccur. The fee is £20 to take part in the Loch Ness festival.

How to sign up for a charity place

To secure your place with us you need to do the following:

Step 1: Pay your non-refundable registration fee to us by clicking the orange register button.

Step 2: Visit the official marathon website to register your Breakthrough T1D place with them. Use the password: CHARITYLNM2025

(If you have already completed this step then you should get confirmation of your place shortly.)

Step 3: Set up your Just Giving page here

Target Sponsorship

The moment you have your Loch Ness Marathon Festival place and have paid your registration fee we will send you a running pack full of information, with lots of ideas on how to raise as much money as possible. We would ask that you commit to raising a minimum amount of sponsorship:

• Loch Ness Marathon Festival 5k: £100
• Loch Ness Marathon Festival 10k: £250
• Loch Ness Marathon Festival – full marathon: £550

Already got a place?

If you have your own place in the Loch Ness Marathon Festival and would like to run for us we’d be thrilled to have you on the team. There is no minimum sponsorship if you have your own place, but aim high and you will be amazed at what you can achieve to support our work. Please let us know about your run so we can support you on your journey!
