Lockdown Jazz Sessions #17
Event Information
About this event
We've had a break to give the mothership a service, and we are back to kick of a second season of Lockdown Jazz Sessions!
Lockdown Jazz Sessions are fortnightly gigs performed by musicians from their own homes. Using zoom, the audience has the chance to be present and together at the online gig, even unmuting themselves to applaud.
First Set: Michael Blanchfield
To kick of our 2021 Season, we are welcoming the brilliant pianist Michael Blanchfield back to our airwaves! The Royal Welsh College graduate and Cardiffian 'man about town' when we are able to be such things, brought us robots, stillness and solitude last time. Perhaps those things are still pretty prominent now, but Michael's music is as fresh as ever - despite the possibility that we may find him hiding under the duvet.
Second Set: Kumar Chopra
Another Lockdown Jazz favourite, Kumar Chopra, will be live once again from his flat in Cardiff. With his repertoire influenced by folk and soul, we can't wait to hear what Kumar brings to the first session of the year.
How does a Lockdown Jazz Session Work?
Upon buying a ticket you will receive a link to click on when the event starts which will take you into a zoom call. You will see Robyn the host, the musicians performing and some of the other audience members. You may share your video and say hello, even unmute yourself to clap between songs, but you are also welcome to listen and watch without being visible. Everyone but the performer is muted during the music.
