Lockdown Jazz Sessions #20
Event Information
About this event
Welcoming Joe Northwood, Kit Downes and Ruth Goller for Lockdown Jazz Sessions #20!
Lockdown Jazz Sessions are fortnightly gigs performed by musicians from their own homes. Using zoom, the audience has the chance to be present and together at the online gig, even unmuting themselves to applaud.
First Set: Joe Northwood
Saxophonist Joe Northwood will be performing a solo set of improvised music, channeling the energy of his pre-pandemic event, the ‘Banshee Therapy Session’. A residency held by his trio, open to all musicians where they could explore the space and release their inner frustrations on the bandstand.
Second Set: Kit Downes & Ruth Goller
Ruth and Kit have been playing more and more together over the last few years, and particularly over the lockdown period. Here they present a mixture of their originals with some old songs close to their hearts.
Kit Downes is a BBC Jazz award winning, Mercury nominated recording artist for ECM Records. Ruth Goller is an in demand bassist and vocalist with such artists as Bojan Z, Sam Amidon and Vula Viel.
