Event Information
About this Event
The last year has presented huge challenges for all, but we have particularly seen how existing inequalities have been exacerbated. Leicester has many areas of high deprivation and health inequalities which contributed the city being subjected to the most stringent and long lasting restrictions in the country.
This panel discusses how for women at the intersection of race and gender the year has proved particularly challenging. But also demonstrates how the women of Leicester are at the forefront of lasting change.
Panel members:
Barbara Czyznikowska , Project Officer, Centre for BME Health.
Melanie Davies, Professor of Diabetes Medicine at the University of Leicester, Honorary Consultant Diabetologist at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. Co-Director of the Leicester Diabetes Centre, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
Sally Etheridge, Founder and Programme Lead, Leicester Mammas.
Zinthiya Ganeshpanchan, Founder and CEO, Zinthiya Trust.
