Event Details

The London-Loughborough Centre for Doctoral Research in Energy Demand is holding a student-led research conference on November 22nd 2013 (9.30 am – 5pm) in London which engages with the following question: "Saving energy in buildings: Why context matters?"

The LOLO CDT’s first conference is open to all current and recently graduated UK and international research students and is intended as a platform to network, share experiences and debate issues of energy demand reduction in buildings.

The research conference will be opened and closed by UCL and Loughborough university keynote speakers, including Prof Kevin Lomas, Michelle Shipworth and Jez Wingfield. A detailed programme is below.

London Loughborough Centre for doctoral research in energy demand

The London-Loughborough Centre, a partnership between UCL andLoughborough University, is the new UK centre for energy demand research.

Our world needs new, clean ways to generate energy. But as economies slow and belts are tightened, governments and businesses are focusing on the other side of the energy equation: how to use less, rather than how to make more.

It connects science and engineering with economics, policy-making, psychology, sociology and design, to develop knowledge and ideas that will lead to real, long-lasting, large-scale solutions.
