What We're About:

The Order, as we affectionately call the Independent United Order of Mechanics, Western Hemisphere, Friendly Society… is made up of groupings of men and women who have voluntarily formed themselves into either a Lodge for men or a Chapter for Women; exemplifying all the high ideals and expectations of a well-regulated, closely-knit organization. Today our Order operates in 26 jurisdictions across the world. Our members are predominantly from the Caribbean, USA, UK and Europe.

The Order teaches individuals to know themselves. By gaining a full understanding of oneself, the individual is able to respect and appreciate others, not by their material possessions, but by their character and humanity. Thus, there are no barriers to true fraternal friendship. The Lodges and Chapters convene at least once per month, to enjoy fellowship and social activities. Roles within the Lodge or Chapter are elected annually through a democratic process. The purpose of the Lodge or Chapter is to foster fellowship and unity among brethren and to promote the building of a strong moral and social character; as well as responsible, charitable and law-abiding citizens.

By joining one of our Lodges or Chapters you'll get the opportunity to do the following:

• Learn and teach something new.
• Meet new people.
• Volunteer for a cause.
• Support each other.
• Encourage a passion.
• Explore new places.

You should consider joining us: If you have a belief in God, are aged over 18, male or female and ideally living in Greater London. Come and meet some of our existing members, learn more about the Order and ask questions.
