LONDON: An Introduction to Domestic Abuse for Church Leaders (£25 + lunch)

Description
Aim: This interactive training day aims to equip Church/Pastoral leaders to recognise and respond to domestic abuse within their context and understand the next steps to take in responding more effectively.
By the end of the day, participants will have:
1) Explored our identity in Christ, looking at an example of how Jesus used power.
2) Explored theological aspects of relating to identity and gender.
3) Highlighted scriptures that can underpin abuse.
4) Explored domestic abuse in the UK, who is most affected and looked at a case study –‘Dawn’s’ story.
5) Identified various responsibilities from a Safeguarding point of view (using a DVD clip about children affected by domestic abuse).
6) Assessed where you might be as a Church and what practical steps you could take to make a difference and support those affected.
A LIGHT LUNCH will be included as well as some resources.
This day will be facilitated by Mandy Marshall, Co-Director and Josephine Wakeling, Training Manager.
