About this event

CBA London's short AGM will include elections and reports from the regional group.

This is followed by the London Archaeological Forum open to anyone interested in the archaeology of London. We have three talks for you this time:

Nathalie Cohen – Becket and London – As the new exhibition at the British Museum on Thomas Becket: Murder and the Making of a Saint opens, Nathalie will be considering how Becket’s links to London are evident in history and archaeology. Known to many for her work on Thames Discovery Programme and at MOLA, she's now Cathedral Archaeologist at Canterbury and National Trust Archaeologist for the Southeast.

Caroline Raynor – HS2 Euston station – Caroline is a Project Manager and Principal Archaeologist at Costain Skanska and was responsible for the design and delivery of the HS2 Euston Cemetery archaeological excavations. She gave a LAF talk earlier in the project, and with the post-excavation works now underway, she will be presenting initial insights into the results of the investigations.

Alistair Douglas – Bermondsey Abbey, The Reformation and Beyond – Alistair is H&S Manager at Pre-Construct Archaeology and has worked on and supervised excavations across London for 30 years. These have included some of those undertaken at Bermondsey Abbey in Southwark. Now that the publication of these interventions is nearing completion, he will discuss the results, and in particular the later stages of the Abbey's history.

Those reserving a place will receive an email confirming the Zoom link.

Agenda and reports have been sent to members, and will be available on the CBA London website: https://archaeologyinlondon.com/

If you have any questions please contact the organiser.
