Description

Why do I need to audition/interview?

Out of hundreds of applicants, we only ever select a few to come on our prestigious #SetReady Course. Interviewees are selected on attitude and who demonstrate a huge potential to work professionally in TV & Film.

To become a member of the National Youth Film Academy you must take part in and successfully complete our #SetReady Course. The course will identify and hone your talent as a filmmaker and actor with two weeks spent training in your chosen field, learning from well-respected industry professionals and meeting with like-minded individuals to write, film and produce your very own short film. In the past, we have had guest speakers such as:

Simon Bird: Actor - The Inbetweeners
Ian Canning: Producer - The Kings Speech, Macbeth
Jason Flemyng: Actor - X Men: First Class, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrel
Karen Lyndesy Stewart: Casting Director - Harry Potter
Gareth Edwards: Director - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Godzilla
Phil Méheux: DOP - Casino Royale, The Smurfs, The Mask of Zorro
Paul Alexander: Writer - Red Dwarf, Emmerdale

To name but a few...
