London City Mission Winter Conference 2022 (online)
Event Information
About this event
Our Winter Conference tackles one of the most pressing and difficult areas of evangelism in London – ministry on council estates. Nearly a quarter of households in London are social housing. Council estates have cultures that are very different from most churches. We want to bridge that gap for the sake of the gospel.
Aimed at both Church leaders, staff and volunteers who are already heading up evangelistic ministries on housing estates as well as those who see the need to get involved, the Winter Conference from 7 to 9 February (10am-1pm) will encourage participants to keep going and also to give fresh ideas for things to do differently. It’s an opportunity to evaluate and find ways to build on what is already being done.
For those who are beginning this kind of ministry, the conference is packed with practical ideas and experience to help hit the ground running.
Over the three days, we’re covering the whole journey from someone being a stranger unknown to the church, to someone committing to faith in Jesus and integrating them into the church family.
Day one, we’re exploring how churches can make connections with people and build good relationships.
Day two, we’ll be talking practically about the unique challenges of sharing God’s love and sharing the gospel with people in the council estate.
Finally on day three, our focus will turn to welcoming and integrating people into the church community.
Each day consists of two sessions with a presentation of practical, biblically-based wisdom followed by opportunities to think through thoroughly how we can apply principles in our own contexts.
Participants will be asking in workshop-style, ‘What does that look like within my church? What are the barriers within my church and what can we do to overcome those barriers?’
