St Katherine and Wapping Docks; the dark story of a painter; surprising secrets of the Thames; the Capital's oldest police force; the truth about a notorious pirate; why executions had to be done in a rush; a Stanley Kubrik film prop; what a 'whopper' means (you'll never go to Burger King again!); tales of Tower Bridge and the humble beginnings of an oil company.
Come along and find out!
Walk starts outside Citizen-M Hotel by Tower Hill underground station and finishes in St Katherine Docks (near Underground and DLR). Meet outside the hotel main entrance (turn right at the Underground exit) roughly opposite the Tower Hill Tramstop kiosk. The walk lasts 120-150 minutes.
I try to make my walks as inclusive and accessible as possible but sometimes architecture and geography are against us. This walk does involve rough ground and also some stairs and steps with no lift available.
FOOTWARE - this walk does go on towpaths which can be bit muddy after rain, please be shod accordingly.
