Sjors Timmer: Designing the design process

Prize-winner and starchitect-in-denial, Rem Koolhaas and his studio OMA have created a method and practice that is uniquely capable of dealing with an ever more complex world. My talk will use his work to discuss the designing of the design process and present five ideas that can be used in digital design.

Alexander Baxevanis: In praise of side projects

Alex is going to convince people that having a side-project (and maybe even multiple side projects) is a good idea and give some tips on making the best out of it. For example:

- How to find time for a side project
- How to stay motivated and (attempt to) finish a side project
- Why you won't always finish your side projects and why this doesn't matter
- Why side projects needn't always be a solitary endeavour

Mary Hamilton: Verbs. Zombies. UX.

Interaction design for zombie hunting means removing obstacles to immersion and ensuring your users can interact with the world simply, cleanly and directly. It also means designing for what happens when you give 90 excited people NERF guns.
