For most of us, living in London is a delight as well as a challenge. We have many different stories about the transport system, about the cost of living here, about the partks, the theatres and museums, the food, the multicultural mix, and also stories of our encounters with the shadow side of London. The homeless, the drinking and violence. Many of us have come from other places in the world. What brings us here? And what keeps us here in London? What are you missing? What have you found here instead?
We will explore some of these questions together in a special way through a Playback Theatre performance by us for you. And before that we will also enable you all to meet each other in a very playful way. We are sure that you will laugh, and relax, enjoy yourselves very much and make many new friends.
We will work mainly in English, but we can also interpret for Mandarin and Cantonese speakers.
We will end with TEA and CAKES!

True Heart Theatre
We specialize in the practice and performance of improvisational / storytelling theatre (Playback Theatre) in a wide range of contexts as a service to the UK Chinese Community and the wider British public – making our stories visible. Our regular members are both theatre professionals as well as people from a wide variety of professions.
We also produce theatre for mainstream arts venues, create theatre-in-education programmes, as well as storytelling events.
We have the capacity to work multi-lingually - in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin - to encourage cross-cultural integration and are Theatre-in-Residence at the University of East London in University Square, Stratford E15 1NF.
We are a registered Charity (No. 1147657) and over the years since our beginnings in 2006 our projects have received funding from Arts Council England, Big Lottery Fund, Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Trust for London, Grassroots Grants, BBC Performing Arts Fund, Grundtvig LifeLong Learning Partnerships, private donations and support in kind from many organisations.
