Event Details

As part of the inaugural London Mobile Games Week, The Afternoon Club presents an interactive event where mobile gaming pros will exchange ideas and share their knowledge with the attendees on informal round tables, plus networking and drinks to set you up for the start of an exciting week in London. Hosted by gaming journalist and writer George Osborn, the event will allow you to meet and talk to the experts, getting advice on growth, promotion and monetisation for your gaming business from people that went from Zero to Hero. Plus there will be plenty of drinks and nibbles, debates and even a prize draw!

The McQueen Bar is conveniently located in the heart of Shoreditch to head to the opening party of the London Mobile Games Week at the Gherkin later in the evening, our hosts include:

Chris Snow, Sales Engineer, IBM Cloudant
Chris will talk about IBM's Cloudant data management platform which leverages the availability, elasticity, and reach of the cloud to create a data delivery network (DDN) for gaming. It has the unique ability to distribute data access closer to users—across multiple data centers, mobile devices, or consoles—so that data is always available to users wherever they are, even if the network isn’t. With major mobile gaming clients such as Hothead Games and Supermassive Games, IBM Cloudant is a proven technology in this area.

Ryan Carter, UK Agency Sales Director, Tapjoy Europe

Ryan will be talking about how Tapjoy utilises its analytics tools to drive in-app monetisation for developers and brands. Tapjoy is the largest distribution, engagement and monetisation platform for mobile applications across the iOS and Android smartphone platforms.

Previously Creative Director of Eidos/SCi, Patrick has titles such as Tomb Raider Legend, Hitman Blood Money, Just Cause and Conflict: Desert Storm under his belt, he will talk about the current market for VR gaming and the challenges and successes facing the gaming industry and how to manage the growth of your studio. nDreams is a fast-growing independent virtual reality publisher and developer based in Farnborough focusing on creating and selling innovative virtual reality games and experiences.

Sylvain Cornillon, CTO, Bossa Studios

Sylvain will talk about the successes they’ve had on mobile devices and about Bossa’s belief system on monetisation being transparent and fair. Virality being worth the spread for the writer and the reader and crucially how not to annoy anyone! Bossa is a London based studio set up by a team of veterans from the games, entertainment and mobile industries. Proud creators of BAFTA winning Monstermind and BAFTA-nominated Surgeon Simulator 2013, they strive to disrupt the current state of social games by developing and publishing innovative games to the market.
