Description

THE MAKING OF CONTEMPORARY MUSIC

Composition Competition Workshop & Concert

Central London

Saturday 29th of September at 5.30 pm and Saturday 2nd of November at 8.30 pm

2 days of networking events and workshops, whereby selected composers meet the London Moonlight Symphony Orchestra and the composition HUB to discuss contemporary music making, techniques, and innovations.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Through the workshop’s framework, the selected composers will have the opportunity to share, discover and discuss some of the most important 20th and 21st-century contemporary music innovations.

During this intensive workshop event we will investigate the main innovations used by twentieth-century music makers and musicians; we will get ideas on how to explore and contextualise the 20th-century music scores; we will see at examples on how to deconstruct modern music systems to associate them into new combinations and get a different perspective of the aforesaid procedures.

With the talented and Professional British Composer Professor Philip Cashian – Royal Academy of Music you will see the concepts applied in real situations through examples taken from the scores and open discussions.

This workshop is highly interactive and composers will bring their favorite works and share solutions or systems they’ve found while studying or working on contemporary scores.

The final complete work will be performed on day 2 of the Workshop program.
