Event description

The London Ocean Group, in partnership with EUMETSAT, is running a workshop on Copernicus satellite data, how to access and how to use it. This will be a half-day session, from 2-5pm on Friday March 23rd, and there is no charge to attend. It’s aimed at ocean academics, postdocs and graduate students in any ocean-related discipline, - anyone who has an interest in using ocean satellite data for their research.

We will introduce the Copernicus system, give examples of data applications and describe how data access works. A huge range of satellite data products are available, and we’ll show the breadth of the biological and physical parameters measured. The second part of the workshop will involve participants setting up the necessary software on their own laptops and learning how to use the data that best fits their own interests.

This is a valuable opportunity to explore the range of satellite data available, and to get hands-on help and advice on how best to apply it to your own projects. Attendees must sign up in advance using this form, and will be contacted with more detail closer to the date of the workshop. Please sign up as soon as possible!
