London Open Backgammon Tournament 2017
Fri, 26 May 2017, 18:00 – Sun, 28 May 2017, 21:00 BST
The 2017 London Open Backgammon Tournament will take place from 26th-28th May at Henrietta Barnett School in Hampstead Garden Suburb, London NW11. The M1 is just 10 minutes away by car, and there is free on street parking readily available in the area. So with good public transport links nearby (Golders Green station is less than 15 minutes by tube from Euston and is also a stop on the air coach links from Stansted and Luton) everyone should find it easy to get to, whatever their means of transport.
The venue has a large playing room which will enable everyone to be in the same space, and we have use of a café from which we will provide a range of food and drinks. Tea, coffee and some cold drinks will be included in the registration fee.
Entry will be limited to 128 players, 64 in the Masters and 64 in the Intermediates, and the format of the tournament will be a Saturday Swiss qualifier followed by a last 16 knock-out. There will also be a Super Jackpot and Warm-up tournament starting on the Friday evening, and a Consolation and Last Chance for those who fail to qualify for the last 16, as well as the usual array of side events (one point shoot out, doubles, and jackpots to suit all pockets). We will also be running a quiz, and you can enter a pool to qualify for the Blackpool Imperial Cup which takes place a fortnight later. All the proceeds from this qualifier will go to the Alzheimer's Society, the nominated charity of the Imperial Cup.

There will be side pools from £10 to £200 for those who want to top up their potential winnings. All prize funds and side pools are returned at 95%.
