Join The London Oriana Choir, for a concert in aid of the local charity 'HealthBus Trust' featuring works by Vaughn Williams and others.

About this event

On Saturday 28 May at 6pm, The London Oriana Choir will be performing at St Peter’s Church Bournemouth, to raise funds for The HealthBus Trust, a local charity that provides basic health care, a GP service and access to addiction and mental health support services to vulnerable individuals sleeping on the streets of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

The evening represents an opportunity to enjoy live music once again, after a period of prolonged lockdown absence, and will celebrate the work of Vaughan-Williams in the 150th anniversary year of his birth as part of a wider programme featuring a broad range of choral music from across the centuries.

London Oriana Choir was founded in 1973 and has become one of the UK’s leading choral groups. Their repertoire ranges from the great choral masterpieces of Verdi, Brahms, Mozart and Handel to contemporary commissions and they have worked with well-known modern industry names such as Madonna, Robert Plant and Pete Townshend.

The choir is led by Dominic Ellis-Peckham, who has worked with the Royal Opera House, English National Opera and the National Youth Choir amongst others. In April 2016, the choir launched five15, a five-year programme to promote women composers by commissioning fifteen new works which have been performed in concert programmes in the UK and abroad, workshops, recordings and other activities.
