“The Place Of Opposition In A Hostile Political Environment”
Being an opposition politician in a hostile political environment had been opined to be an occupation with a very high mortality rate. With the dawn of social media and ease of sharing information globally, this high mortality rate appeared to have been reversed. This was further reduced by improvement in education, human rights: freedom of expression, press, speech, information etc. It seems probably that this positive trend did not continue in the light of recent global events especially in Africa and the Middle East. What has happened? Where are we? How did we get to a reverse gear? Where are we heading to? Will the trend be continued? Will there be a positive charge toward real change?
