'London Pride' - The Central Band of The Royal British Legion

The amazing Central Band of The Royal British Legion is back by popular demand at Southwark Cathedral in London for another fabulous concert showcasing a truly great city.
The Central Band, under the leadership of its Musical Director the irrepressible David Cole, will perform an entertaining programme of music featuring London as its star turn - a place which has inspired composers and song-writers alike. This will be a celebration through the ages saluting this great town of London reminding us what a wonderful place this is. The pieces performed with include music from the Royal Fireworks by Handel, Trumpet Tune by Purcell, William Walton's Crown Imperial from the Coronation of HM The Queen as well as featuring great West End Musicals such as Oliver! and My Fair Lady amongst others. There will also be a March or two including the Knightsbridge March by Eric Coates! There could not be a better place to be - at the historic and ancient Southwark Cathedral - a stone's throw from London Bridge with wonderful river views both east and west.
David and his merry men and women comprise a highly talented band of skilful and versatile musicians which not only represents the Legion but also performs in a wide range of guises such as a dance band and various ensembles including brass and woodwind. Its musicians come from all walks of life and if you have not experienced their skill and virtuosity, then start now! Their repertoire is vast and varied, fun and inspiring - not to be missed!
Doors will open at 6.30 pm, the concert will start at 7.15 pm and end at 8.45 pm - there is no interval.
