London RBN with David Flatman, Nick Easter, Tom Shanklin, Matt Cairns, and...
Thu 27 October 2016, 18:00 – 21:00 BST
Our hosts for the evening are the charitable foundation Wings for Life who raise money for vital research into finding a cure for spinal cord injury. The foundation’s story is unique in that 100% of the charities overheads are covered by Red Bull as the charity was co-founded by Dietrich Mateschitz (co-founder of Red Bull). The Wings for Life UK’s offices are therefore based in the Red Bull UK offices on Tooley Street. Be prepared to be wowed by the incredible work being done behind the scenes in research that will hopefully change the lives of so many paralysed ex rugby players.
Our first Guest Speaker Nick Easter a.k.a Minty is former rugby union player who played for Harlequins and England. With over 54 international appearances and a record 281 appearances for Harlequins, Easter enjoyed a stellar rugby career and later retired to focus on his new role as Head Coach at Wimbledon RFC.
Our next Guest Speaker for the night is Tom Shanklin, former Welsh rugby union centre who played club rugby for Cardiff Blues, London Welsh, and Saracens. He is Wales' most-capped centre having won 70 caps for them. He is currently the Commercial Manager for DS Smith and Director of LS Media & Events.
Our MC for the evening will be David Flatman the ex England, Saracens and Bath prop who is now a rugby presenter for BT Sport and now one of the best rugby speakers and comperes in the UK although he is far too humble to ever say that. Flats played in the front row with our investment speaker Matt Cairns so hopefully he can spare Cairnsy's blushes but let's be honest - he probably won't!
Our first business speaker for the evening has also played rugby for England, Saracens, Harlequins and Sale. Matt Cairns. Matt is a Financial Adviser at PFP Wealth ltd a Partner Practice of St. James's Place Wealth Management. Matt has a fascinating story of his transition from an elite player to the investment world and will give his insights into what is hot and what is not in both rugby and investment. Matt is also a founder of a jam and condements business which is another interesting story.
Our next business speaker, Gavin McGhee, Senior Wealth Management Consultant at St. James's Place Wealth Management Group, is a highly experienced and business focussed Investment Specialist that leads Wealth Management businesses in the UK and Asia. During the event, Gavin will be sharing his advice on the implementation of client led wealth management propositions.
So join us on Thursday 27th October, for what again will doubtless be a fun and productive evening of relaxed, rugby-style networking.
We look forward to seeing you there!
