London Slave Owners with Rob Smith

Join us for virtual tour looking at some of the many London people who owned plantations where enslaved people worked. Who were they, where did they live?

When slavery was abolished in Britain, the owners of plantations that used slaves were given compensation. The enslaved people got nothing. Thanks to these compensation records we know about some of the people who benefited from slavery - plantation owners, landowners, and the slave traders themselves.

Discover the untold stories and hidden truths of this dark period in the city's past. This in-person event will be held in the performance space at The Library at Willesden Green. Don't miss this opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of London's complex history.
