Synopsis:
Technology is not much use if it is not applied in a productive and cost-effective manner.

From ‘Just Do It’ through SSADM, DSDM (RAD), AGILE and more recently BLOCK methodologies, this session is a personal view of my use of different methodologies over 30 years in MI/BI systems development.

The session will also include Lessons Learned from the Block delivery of a DataMart using the SQL Server BI toolset.

About the speaker:
With over 30 years experience in the design & development of Business Intelligence (BI) systems Andrew Baker, a senior partner in Guest & Baker, has accumulated a wealth of practical & technical knowledge.

He has provided analysis, design, testing, optimisation, project management and technical leadership consultancy to over 35 client organisations in a variety of vertical markets including: Investment Banking, Legal & Insurance Services, Public Services, Oil Industry, Health Services, Manufacturing & FMCG. Application areas include: Credit, Market & FX Risk, Data Warehousing, Financial Modelling, Executive Information Systems, Management Reporting & Statutory Consolidation.
