Attention all classroom teachers and subject leaders:
We are delighted to invite you to attend a FREE primary science CPD session run by award winning teachers from the Primary Science Teaching Trust hosted at the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School (N1 9QG) on Monday, 17 November 2025, from 15:45 to 17:00.
The event is aimed at primary teachers and science subject leaders who want to develop their confidence, subject knowledge and skills in teaching primary science. All the sessions will be run by award winning science teachers from the Primary Science Teaching Trust. Choose one of six different workshops, please indicate which one you want to attend.
Sessions include:
- Developing Science Enquiry Skills in the classroom
This session will focus on strategies and activities to support KS2 children develop a range of scientific skills, which can subsequently be applied in their own scientific investigations.
- Assessing science learning in the Primary Classroom
This session will give tips on how to assess children’s knowledge and enquiry skills and introduce teachers to a range of free supporting resources.
- Supporting SEND pupils in science lessons
This session will look at good practice in the primary classroom and offer tips and practical examples of how to support SEND pupils.
- Science in the Early Years classroom
A guide to free resources to support planning and learning for 3 – 5-year-olds and tips on how to use them.
This session provides practical ideas for delivering the science National Curriculum in Years 1 and 2, with a focus on developing enquiry skills and planning for pupil progression.
How can we use our outdoor spaces to teach science? This session will look at utilising spaces around school and local green spaces to support the teaching of topics such as plants, habitats and forces.
The workshops will start at 16:00 and last an hour. Refreshments will be available from 15:45.
