London2Calais: Oppose Nazis In Dover - Open The Border
Event Information
Description
London2Calais are organsing a convoy of coaches to oppose a Nazi march in Dover on 30th January. The fascists are demanding the borders be closed to refugees and migrants. We must unite against them to call for borders to be open and refugees welcomed into our society.
We urge all our supporters and the broader refugee solidarity movement to mobilise for this counter-demonstration. Book your tickets now.
The Nazi National front and other neo-Nazi's and fascist groups including South East Alliance, North West Infidels and East Kent English Patriots plan to march in Dover on Saturday 30 January 2016.
The last time these groups came to Dover, fascists and racists rioted; throwing bricks, fireworks, chains and bottles.
These groups are attempting to take advantage of the current panic in the media over migrants and refugees:
• The fascist groups that descend on Dover are the local equivalents of the European fascist groups attacking and murdering refugees in camps around Europe.
•They purport to support truck drivers and Dover residents.
But in reality their presence threatens to stir up hated in our community and scapegoat refugees for many of the problems we face.
These groups physically attacked local trade unionists, anti-racism activists and Labour Party members during the 2015 General Election campaign.
Kent Anti Racism Network are calling a counter-demonstration, which aims to bring trade unions, anti racists and anti fascists and local communities together to stop the NF, SEA and similar groups in Dover.
East Kent has a proud anti-fascist legacy and previous attempts by the fascist right to march have been met with opposition.
