On October 26th 2016, the London Internet of Things Meetup will hold a showcase of local startups at London’s Living room in City Hall. This is the second year City Hall has hosted a showcase which have in the past been hosted by Imperial College, Nominet UK and the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists.
A showcase is an informal trade-show setting where local internet of things startups show prototypes, work in progress of products they have already commercialised to a crowd that walks around.
The London Internet of Things Meetup was started in 2011 and is now the second biggest meetup in the world dedicated to this topic (8K+ members). Curated by Alexandra Deschamps-Sonsino it is free to attend and runs for 2 hours in the evening 11 times a year. Outside of two showcase events a year, the meetup usually features three 10 minute talks a table demo and networking opportunities for professionals, students and academics alike.
