At the end of the session you will be familiar with a number of basic strategies for managing risk and minimising the impact of difficult behaviour from others.

The session will enable you to:

Identify major sources of risk
Identify elements of your own behaviour that can increase risk
Practice strategies to reduce risk such as the use of language to ‘de-escalate’

Who is this course suitable for?

Lone workers, staff who visit service users in their homes, volunteers who may find themselves working in isolation or managers of services that use staff in roles that are separated from the main body of the workforce.
