About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

The Children's Society - Child Exploitation Prevention Programme.

This session is aimed at staff working within community based and leisure spaces operating within the West Midlands. These individuals can play a key role in safeguarding children in their communities, as they may be able to spot indicators which no one else can.

We work across England and Wales to improve responses and prevent exploitation and abuse. We collaborate, making connections across regions and sectors, and we empower our partners to create change in their communities.

This event is being run as part of our #Look Closer campaign, which is an award winning campaign operating at national level. The objectives are to raise awareness of child exploitation in public spaces.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Spot the signs and indicators of child exploitation
  • Learn about the grooming cycle and modern slavery
  • Explore how children could be victimised within leisure and community settings
  • Learn about reporting mechanisms and intelligence sharing

This will be an event aimed at leisure centre and community centre staff operating within the West Midlands.
