"Look Up!" a pop-up exhibition for Heritage Open Day 2025
When you walk through Leeds do you ever look up? This Heritage Open Day visit the West Yorkshire Archive Service and see the buildings of Leeds from an entirely new perspective.
Join us to discover the beautiful architecture that often goes unnoticed above the city's busy shop fronts. At the Leeds office of the West Yorkshire Archive Service we'll be hosting a pop-up exhibition exploring the hidden stories behind some of the city’s most striking buildings. Through historic plans and photographs you’ll see how Leeds has grown and changed over the years.
See original records that reveal the details of iconic sites - from the grand Victorian Arcades and Town Hall to the rooftops of the city’s distinctive back-to-back terraces. Whether you're passionate about local history, fascinated by architecture, or simply curious about what goes on at the archives, this is your chance to see Leeds from a whole new perspective.
This is a free pop-in event between 9.30am and 4pm.
See you there!
p.s. behind-the-scenes tours are also available at 10am and 2pm - please see our Eventbrite page for more details on how to book on to one of the tours.
