Looking after our wellbeing while supporting others
Overview
Working closely with people and leading teams within frontline services can be deeply meaningful and at the same time overwhelming and exhausting.
In this session, Psychologist Sarah Brown will explore how we can protect our own wellbeing when the work feels heavy. She will look at what it means to stay regulated when times are tough, how we manage alongside the hard stuff, and how we keep ourselves safe, including noticing and repairing relationships when they feel strained or ruptured.
We will also hear from Platfform’s Deputy Director of Operations Phil Richardson, who manages a team working in crisis prevention and housing. Phil will reflect on the reality that the systems we work within can be challenging and share how he creates space for curiosity rather than judgement, offering practical tools that support teams to navigate complexity with compassion.
Can’t make it live? Don’t worry—the first hour will be recorded and shared after the session. The second hour will be a reflective space for open conversation, connection, and shared learning in a safe and supportive environment.
