Event description

Description

One year on from the new GCSEs, this event will focus on addressing issues and providing support and ideas for history and geography. The event will have a keynote lecture from Dr Rashida Sharif, former HMI and departmental survey specialist, as well as tailored subject keynotes. Workshops will be tailored towards concerns expressed by teachers in our ongoing research.

History workshops will include a focus on concerns expressed in the HA's ongoing GCSE CPD poll, including low attainment, assessment, and interpretations. Speakers include Richard Kennett of Redland Green School on unpacking interpretations and Robert Peal of West London Free School on making history stick. Geography workshops will include a keynote session from Steve Brace, Head of Education and Outdoor Learning at RGS-IBG on Fieldwork at GCSE.

Download the full programme from the HA website.
