Looking and Seeing - Children's workshop with Jacques Nimki
Sun 16 October 2016, 15:00 – 16:30 BST
The workshop is free to attend, and all materials will be provided. Ticket price is deposit only.
Jacques Nimki will hold a children's workshop based around, and conducted upon, his site-specific comission Florilegium SW7 - a living indoor meadow.
The workshop will begin with a conversation about the difference between looking and seeing, and the nature of art. The children will talk about the meadow and look at optical illusions and weeds in the street, too.
The children will be asked to make line drawings of each other, and then move to the meadow where they will make line drawings of plants within it. Then, they'll be shown pressed weeds and draw these, too.
The children will then be invited to create their own weed. They'll draw it first, and then make a collage of it using tissue paper.
