Event description

Description

Join Professor Elizabeth Mason-Whitehead to hear more about her fascinating research into the stigma of leprosy. Mental illness can be a lifelong consequence of experiencing the stigma and discrimination of leprosy, for millions of people worldwide. Those diagnosed with leprosy often suffer exclusion and isolation and such discrimination can result in emotional stress, anxiety and depression. Prof Mason-Whitehead hopes that her research into the stigma of leprosy may help improve the quality of life for millions worldwide who suffer the disease and this is a fantastic opportunity to hear about her experiences in India and her research.
